🔲Image Grid Splitter

Split one image into a grid for social posts. Center-crops to the right ratio, then numbers the pieces in upload order.

Your images are never sent to a server (processed in your browser)

How to use

  1. Choose the image you want to split — the center portion appears in the preview.
  2. Pick a split pattern (3×3 is the classic Instagram grid).
  3. Press "Split & download ZIP" — the files are numbered in the order you should post them.
  4. For a 9-grid, upload the files starting from the highest number (bottom-right piece) down to 01 (top-left).

Why you post starting from the bottom-right

Instagram's profile grid adds each new post to the top-left, pushing everything else down and to the right. To end up with the full picture reading correctly, you need to post the bottom-right piece first and the top-left piece last. This tool bakes that upload order right into the filenames (01 first, 09 last), so you just upload in filename order.

The center crop matches the aspect ratio of your chosen pattern (square for 3×3, wide for the 3-across banner) automatically — note that this trims the top/bottom or left/right of your original image.

FAQ

Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Cropping, splitting, and saving all happen entirely in your browser.
What happens if I post them in the wrong order?
The pieces will appear scrambled on your profile grid. Upload them in filename order (01 → 09) exactly.
Part of my image is getting cut off.
The tool center-crops to match your chosen pattern's aspect ratio, so depending on your original image's shape, the top/bottom or the sides may be trimmed. If there's a part you don't want cropped, adjust it first with the Image Cropper.
